About Me

Hello. My name is Iihae. I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and I have been in this field for over 26 years. I have worked with clients of all ages and from all walks of life.

My special interest is in working with trauma. I have extensive training in various therapeutic modalities including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Brainspotting, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). I worked as a Program Supervisor in a hospital intensive outpatient program for the chronically mentally ill adults and seniors who taught me a lot about having compassion for those who are suffering, as well as how to find beauty, hope and strength in each person. I am now in full-time private practice, and I love what I do.

Many people have asked me if my name has any meaning. Iihae (pronounced E-heh) means "Understanding Grace." I have come to appreciate my name as I have encountered special people in my life who have really cared about me and have extended God’s grace to me.

I am very excited to be part of SAGA, whose vision is to create a place of refuge for fellow believers, especially for those of you in ministry. As a pastor’s daughter, I know firsthand what it is like to feel alone in pain and to not have a safe place to turn.

Diana Fosha, PhD, the founder of AEDP, described traumas as “unbearable states of aloneness.” We are not meant to be alone in our suffering. I believe deep healing can take place when we are in the safe and caring presence of a trusted person. It would be my honor to be that refuge for you, to walk alongside of your journey towards healing and growth.
