LMFT
I believe that every person has the potential to change and grow in spite of life's challenges. When working with clients, I utilize a collaborative, strengths-based approach that incorporates an integration of Christian faith-based perspectives with cognitive behavior therapy, family systems theory, attachment theory, and solution-focused therapy. In utilizing these approaches, I view our times together as opportunities for learning skills and planting seeds, so you are able to have the tools to flourish and thrive long term. My specialties are grief and trauma across the lifespan. In utilizing these specialties, I work with people in resolving anxiety and depression that manifest as a result of trauma and grief. I work with individuals from infancy through late adulthood, as well as couples and families. My certifications and specialized training include Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), Motivational Interviewing, Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP - birth through age 5), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I am also certified with the Grief Recovery Institute for navigating grief and loss related to the death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, and loss of faith. I’m a graduate of California State University, Northridge for both underrate and master’s programs. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked in the entertainment industry for 7 years, and during my transition to pursue counseling I was on staff at my church for 4.5 years working in the office as the executive assistant to the senior pastor.
